Smart Money Extremes™
Shadow Intel — Smart Money Extremes™
Smart Money Extremes™ tracks the positioning of the biggest players in the market — institutions, funds, and retail traders — and highlights the exact moments when they are at total opposite extremes. When smart money and retail are completely opposed, the next major market move becomes highly probable.

// What It Does
The COT Report is released every week. It shows exactly who is long, who is short, and how stretched each group has become. Most traders never read it. Most traders also never see the big moves coming.
Smart Money Extremes™ does the reading for you. When smart money is loaded up on one side and retail is piled on the other, the market is coiled. Something is coming.
Every week, the largest market participants are required by law to report exactly how they are positioned. Smart Money Extremes™ takes that data and puts it directly on your chart as three lines, each scaled from 0 to 100 based on the last 26 weeks.
When any group hits an extreme, you see it instantly.
// The 3 Market Participants
Commercials The producers and hedgers. They use futures to protect their business, not to speculate. They almost always position against the trend — and history shows they are right most of the time.

Non-Commercials (Large Speculators) The hedge funds and money managers. Trend followers by nature. When a move is in motion, they are in it.

Small Speculators (Retail) Late to every move. This indicator will confirm that on almost every asset you look at.

// How to Read It
Watch all three groups at once and wait for extremes.

The setup is this: Commercials heavily positioned one way, Large Speculators heavily positioned the other way, and Retail piled in behind the Large Speculators.
Retail usually arrives after the move has already been decided. That gap between smart money and retail is your macro bias — it tells you what is coming before price does.
Important: This is not a timing tool. It does not tell you when to enter. It tells you which direction the weight of informed money is sitting.
// Settings
All defaults have been tested across multiple markets and timeframes. No changes are required to get started.
Weeks Lookback — Default: 26 How many weeks the indicator uses to build the 0 to 100 scale. 26 weeks covers half a year and works well across most markets. Can be extended up to 5 years for a broader historical view.
Lower Threshold — Default: 20 When any line drops below this level, it is considered at an extreme low. This is when you start paying close attention.
Upper Threshold — Default: 80 When any line rises above this level, it is considered at an extreme high. Same rule — pay attention.
Include Options — Default: Off Adds options data on top of futures positioning. Turn it on if you want a broader picture of total market exposure.

// Open Interest
Beyond the three group lines, there is one additional layer — Open Interest.
Open Interest measures the real conviction behind any move. When it is rising, money is flowing in and the trend has fuel. When it is falling, participants are leaving and the move is losing steam.

The signal that matters most is when Open Interest reaches an extreme and then suddenly reverses. That flip often comes before price reacts — and that is exactly when you want to be paying attention.
// The Bigger Picture
